IDI again falls prey to the menace of fake news. Earlier fake news of it has erupted in online media which claimed that the main villain was arrested for being part of drug smuggling. It was later found to be false and fabricated.

This time the news is about its director Sajid Yahiya. It was alleged that Jayasurya lifted his hands to hit the director for not respecting cinematographer/director Azhagappan in the sets of IDI. The director has visited the set to meet Jayasurya. Sajid later stated that this news is false and the said director has never visited their location. He also added that this is the ploy of somebody`s wild imagination.

Sajid has also released a detailed letter countering the accusations and stating the reasons for coming up with such a letter. He also added that he has great respects for the director and he grew up seeing his works. The director has also released a screenshot of the Azhagappan`s message regarding the incident obviously as tangible evidence.
